Gati is a word that comes from the Sanskrit and means literally - seed, the basis for growth of any tree. Like a tree growing above and below the earth with its branches spreading sky above at your own pace, and with their roots to cling firmly and deeply underground. Gati explores the visual journey and the journey of the aura through space and time, although it is intrinsically based on tradition.
It combines the lyricism of the traditional kathak with the dynamics of a contemporary presentation. And it's a search choreographer in reinventing the Indian Classical Dance Kathak adding a contemporary relevance. Board an elegant visual construction with exciting music for the soul, Gati explores the cultural and spiritual significance of the real roots of classical Indian Kathak dance.
