DHRUPAD
Solo
7 mins
Dhrupad is a major tradition of Indian culture and the most ancient style of Hindustani classical music. Truly considered the soul of Indian music The word Dhrupad is derived from DHRUVA meaning unmoving – is the steadfast evening star that moves through our galaxy and PADA meaning poetry.
Like Dhrupad, the piece conceives THOUGHTS from the past , … nostalgia … steady, every present yet moving through time and space and arriving in contemporary present. A space where the past and present coexist, in a never ending time cycle.
Music : Pt Emu Desai
