Lajja Sambhavnath

A starlit night witnesses the meeting of two dancers Tarikavalli, born in France, and Lajja Sambhavnath, in India, reflecting the inherent geometric shapes that inhabit their dance forms Bharata-natyam and Kathak. SAMAPADA contemplates a rendez -vous of two distinct lineages and classical dance styles of India North (Kathak) and South (Bharatanatyam).
Keeping individual identities intact, Lajja Shambavnath and Tarikavalli share the wisdoms of ancient treasures with the audience, in an original and contemporary interpretation. In
SAMAPADA (feet together), their dance draws a mandala - an enchanting circle, to music and the rhythm of bells. SAMAPADA amplifies the mysterious alchemy of “chance”, of meeting and of sharing, between two distinctly different worlds and cultures.
